The FCA examined a period more than 8 years (1 December 2008 to 30 June 2015). Offers of Geek Squad approaches were worth over £444.7 million in this period. The FCA found various issues identifying with mis-selling and these include:
  1. Carphone Warehouse didn't give sales assistants suitable preparing. For instance, they didn't asses client's needs concerning whether the protection was required. A few clients had home protection or ledger protection for example that would cover them.
  2. Sales staff were prepared in "objection handling", with the emphasis being on beating client complaints as opposed to surveying whether the item was reasonable for the client.
  3. Great number of policies were cancelled even before the deadline. For instance in January 2014 30% of strategies were dropped inside the initial three months of beginning. In spite of this being a pointer of high danger of mis-selling Carphone Warehouse didn't think about it.
  4. At the point when clients whined about the protection deal, Carphone Warehouse neglected to appropriately examine and reasonably think about their grumblings. So legitimate objections with respect to mis-selling were not maintained and it added to the mistaken picture of mis-selling pointers.
